Poppy Seed Strudel

The simple yet visually beautiful Štrudla sa Makom or poppyseed strudel is a staple in Balkan bakeries. 

Dough:
✓ 1 cup warm milk
✓ 1 tablespoons active dry yeast
✓ 1 tablespoons sugar
✓ 100 g butter
✓ 2 eggs
✓ ½ cup crystal sugar
✓ 1 lemon Zest
✓ 4 cups flour
✓ 1 tablespoons salt

FOR FIL
✓ 1 cup sugar 
✓ 3 cups poppy seeds 400g
✓ 1 lemon Zest
✓ 2 teaspoon Vanilla
✓ 1 ½ cup milk

Combine it all and cook for about 5 to 10 minutes

Bake the strudel at 360 f for about 40 minutes
