Whether you’re a fan of savory fillings like meat, potatoes, or mushrooms, or you prefer something sweet like fruit or jam, this recipe has something for everyone! These soft and fluffy piroshki are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or as a satisfying snack. Follow along with my step-by-step guide to create these delicious, pillowy pastries right at home!

Ingredients:
✓ 5 cups flour
✓ 1 cup warm milk
✓ 1 tablespoon sugar
✓ 1 tablespoon yeast
✓ 1 teaspoon salt
✓ 1 cup warm water
✓ ¼ cup oil

✓ 350 g goat cheese / Cream cheese
✓ 4 cups cooking oil (for frying)

Instructions:
1. Preparing the dough:
   - Sift the flour into a large bowl and make a well in the center.
   - In the well, add 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 tablespoon of dry yeast, then pour in the warm milk.
   - Mix this mixture for about 5 minutes to activate the yeast.
   - After that, add the warm water, salt, and ¼ cup of oil.
   - Knead the dough by hand until it becomes smooth and stops sticking to your hands. The dough should be soft and elastic.

2. Let the dough rise:
   - Grease a bowl with oil and place the dough inside.
   - Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a cloth, and let the dough rise until it doubles in size.

3. Shaping the piroshki:
   - Once the dough has risen, take it out and shape it into a ball.
   - Divide the dough into 8 equal parts, and shape each part into a small ball.
   - Roll each ball into a rectangle. Spread goat cheese or cream cheese on the lower part of the rectangle.
   - Fold in the left and right sides of the rectangle, then roll it up from the bottom. Repeat the process with all the dough pieces.

4. Frying the piroshki:
   - In a frying pan, heat about 4 cups of oil, or enough to have a depth of about ¾ inch.
   - The oil temperature should be around 340°F. If the oil is too hot, the piroshki will brown quickly on the outside but remain raw on the inside.
   - Depending on the size of your pan, fry a few piroshki at a time for about 8-10 minutes on one side, then flip and fry for another 8 minutes on the other side.

5. Final step:
   - The piroshki are ready when they are golden-brown and crispy on the outside, while soft on the inside.
   - Place them on paper towels to drain excess oil and enjoy your freshly made piroshki!

Enjoy
